In a recent interview with Charlie Rose, outgoing Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Alyssa Mastromonaco said the following about people at the side of the road taking pics of the president:
“Put your iPhone down. Take it in. Be in the moment.”
Let me take a moment to agree with her. A truly wonderful thing can be unfolding right before people’s eyes, and they will look at it through their phones. If they don’t record it, they think it doesn’t happen. I have even heard people refer to taking pictures as making memories.
